Our Ethical Approach
Unfortunately, many companies pursue profits irrespective of the impact they may have on society. There are many publicly traded companies that are socially irresponsible — in how they treat their staff, in their treatment of the environment and even in the business they engage in.
That is why Shukr practices both negative and positive screens when it invests.
Negative screens means removing certain businesses that we view as unethical from our investment universe —for example, companies that pollute the environment, utilize child labor, and engage in the sale and manufacture of weapons.
